Buying a Gluten Free Bread Machine

Not all bread machines are created equal when it comes to baking gluten free bread. While most machines can accomplish the task, the quality of the bread can end up being…. well… GROSS! Knowing what to look for in a bread machine will save you a lot of headaches and wasted ingredients. Here are some tips for buying a machine that will give you that perfect loaf.

Look for a machine with programmable cycles, as this will make your job much easier (after all, you are buying a bread machine to save time, right?)… Also, always look for a special gluten
free cycle. Gluten free bread dough only needs one kneading and rising cycle, whereas regular bread needs two (over kneading bread makes it go flat).

The paddles for a gluten free bread machine must be thicker and heavier because the density of gluten free dough is higher. This also helps to avoid clumps and lumps.

The other thing you should look for is a cool down cycle, because this prevents the bread from losing a ton of flavor or getting soggy. This is the bread machine we have, and I love it. Best Gluten Free Bread Machine

It’s the Zojirushi BBCCX20 Home Bakery Supreme Bread Machine Believe me… this is after lots of failed bread experiments! I couldn’t even GIVE my bread away when I had the other machines! Thank heavens for Craigslist! :) :)
