Symptoms

Celiac disease has no timeline and can show up at any time in a persons life.  Celiac disease can be triggered by many things such as surgery, viral infection, pregnancy, childbirth or emotional distress.  Symptoms vary, and often times mimic other bowel disorders.  They may include one or more of the following:

Chronic diarrhea or constipation or both

Pale, foul smelling stool

Vitamin K Deficiency

Behavior changes such as depression and irritability

Fatigue, weakness or lack of energy

Missed menstrual periods

Infertility, male and female

Tooth discoloration or loss of enamel

Failure to thrive in infants

Bone or joint pain

Anemia

Delayed growth or onset of puberty

Canker sores in the mouth

Unexplained weight loss or weight gain

Bloating, gas or abdominal pain

Spontaneous miscarriages
